From Herbs to Wild Herb Elixirs
Wild Herb Elixirs began with Phil Walsh’s lifelong connection
to plants, natural remedies and the traditions of herbalism.
A qualified medical herbalist based in Co. Wexford, Phil began creating her own herbal preparations using carefully selected natural ingredients. What started on a small scale grew organically, as people returned for the products, recommended them to friends and began asking for more.
At the heart of the range is Phil’s Multipurpose Herbal Balm — a deeply nourishing, versatile balm that has become a firm favourite with customers over the years. People return to it for all kinds of everyday skin needs, from dry, weathered or irritated skin and insect bites to caring for more challenging skin, including skin prone to eczema and psoriasis.
As customers began talking to Phil about tired and aching joints and muscles, another of her most-loved products began to take shape. Drawing on her herbal knowledge and on preparations she used herself, Phil developed her Balsam Herbal Soothing Balm, a warming herbal rub that has since become another firm favourite with her customers.
Other products followed naturally. As a mother of six daughters and a son, Phil became increasingly conscious of the products her family were using on their skin. This was part of the inspiration behind her natural deodorant - creating an effective alternative from ingredients she felt good about her family using every day.
Knowledge, Nature & Intention
Phil’s approach brings together her knowledge of herbalism, her deep respect for the natural world and her belief in supporting the body’s natural capacity for balance and wellbeing.
Reiki is also an important part of Phil’s life and philosophy. As a Reiki practitioner, she brings that same sense of intention, care and positive energy to the making of her products. Each batch is made by hand, in small quantities, with attention given to both the ingredients and the process.
Growing Naturally
Over the years, Wild Herb Elixirs has grown through local markets and shows, returning customers and word of mouth. Phil’s work has also been recognised with awards at local shows — a lovely acknowledgement of a business that has grown from something she genuinely loves doing.
Today, Wild Herb Elixirs is an established Wexford business, with products available through the online shop and supplied to selected independent retailers and holistic centres.
Although the business has grown, the heart of it remains much the same. Phil continues to make her products by hand in Wexford, combining traditional herbal knowledge, carefully chosen natural ingredients and the personal care that has been part of Wild Herb Elixirs from the beginning
